Latest FreeBSD news

Hi Diary,
I’ve been very busy these days with either work or final school report writing. Lately I’ve committed some changes to net/ipw-firmware to use it as a master port for the on-coming iwi-firmware. Actually this port is ready, but it seems iwi(4) just doesn’t work with Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2200 according to marcus and some people on -hackers. I’ve mailed Damien Bergamini to have some more information.
I received a mail from someone who would like to see net/openbgpd updated to latest version (3.7), and answered I’ll do ASAP. I’ve been able to look at it two days ago, unfortunately it just doesn’t compile because of non-existent SIMPLEQ_* macros on FreeBSD. I’ll try to contact Henning Brauer about this soon. I’m not sure if I could patch it to use other macros from sys/queue.h.
Since code slush was approaching (for RELENG_6 branch), I’ve bothered krion a lot about some patches I’ve done against src/usr.sbin/pkg_install (some were 2-months old, first assigned to eik) mainly about :
- making directory argument optional for @cw?d command
- adding @dirrmtry command to remove those ugly “@unexec rmdir %D/foo 2>/dev/null || true” lines from packing lists
- adding @noinst command as part of my plan to conquer the world (basically just the same as @comment, but it’s aimed at creating a file database to be able to know which port installs what file)
Last but not least, PR count hasn’t been so low in 3 years (down to 670) o/.
