Prelude to Dune

I’ve finally finished reading the Prelude to Dune trilogy. Since I’ve read Frank Herbert’s Dune books in french and those in english, I’m not really able to compare style (yet, I still haven’t read Chapterhouse Dune and I bought the original version). I liked those three books a lot, probably more than the others, but I couldn’t explain why.

Anyway, I started reading the Legends of Dune trilogy and this one will probably be even better, since it explains how it all started.

Linux Emulation on FreeBSD/amd64

For years I’ve refused to install linux compatibility layer on my FreeBSD machines, but some days ago I’ve finally decided to try it, because I needed linux-realplayer.

Today, I was quite bored not having a flash plugin in my brand fresh new Firefox 1.5 (and even more bored that it ate all my RAM) so I decided to try Opera. www/opera didn’t work because it’s marked as i386-only so I tried www/linux-opera. Install went well, and everything is working nicely. Now I have a working flash plugin and a lightning fast browser \o/.

Kudos to Opera, now I can play on Mausland.de again :)
