Haven't had the time to work on it lately. The code is moving fast and I think it's now using some OpenBSD-specific features.

I'll try to have a look once X.org is merged.

Has there been any progress on this? I have downloaded the source package from: http://people.freebsd.org/~flz/local/ports/hoststated/ and I have not any any luck compiling it. The Makefile I have looks for event-1.2 but currently libevent1.3 is in the source tree. Please advise. I am VERY interested in this, and I will do all I can to assist!

We've got this installed and running, but hoststated doesn't seem to be modifying the pf tables as expected. The correct host state shows up in hoststatectl but the table remains unchanged when viewed with a pfctl -T show -t .

I can post config snippets and output if needed.

Been talking about it with mlaier, and he told me there was no real gain in having it in src rather than in ports (which is right).

Any reason why you aren't considering this for inclusion in the base system?
