Yeah finally. First mail I sent to lesi about xorg-modular was on the 14th of February 2006. It’s a bit more than what Kris announced but hey, now it’s committed o/.

I’m not going to make a long post, cause I’ve already made quite a lot of them. Thanks to everyone involved in testing/reviewing/patching, we wouldn’t have been able to do everything without you.

Announce is here.

Cool things I’ve read:

  • teh one-hour commit!
  • cvs ci -F ~/cvsYPYKXc 46,55s user 46,30s system 2% cpu 1:06:44,82 total
  • commit mail is too big!

    Merci :)

I upgraded yesterday for testing purposes and it went off without any problems. Thanks to you and everybody else for all the hard work.

Do you have an amazon wishlist or somesuch?

  4. 4 Florent Thoumie

Yeah, see my latest post. Thanks for the suggestion!

    good job, thanx

Well, the font-alias port doesn’t help. I still get the “could not open default font ‘fixed’” error.

  7. 7 Florent Thoumie

You also need the x11-fonts/font-misc-misc port.

  8. 8 Aljosa Us

Thanks, after I did that I realised I have to reinstall all the font-* ports

  9. 9 T. Inoue

    Doesn’t work…

Because, /graphics/dri cannot find MesaLib-6.5.3.tar.bz2 anywhere.

    and

Because, /devel/makedepend cannot find makedepend-1.0.0.tar.bz2 anywhere.

    Any suggestions? I portsnaped today.

I’ve been playing with xorg 7.2 for a long time (perharps from current january, maybe before maybe later). What happens with the people who installed from the experimental port tree ? I guess it’s only a question of refetch the port tre with cvsup and the rebuild xorg.

can anyone please confirm that ?

    T. Inoue: fetching distfiles works here. You can manually download them at:

    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3 and
    http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/util/

Gusi: Yeah, remove the git tree and cvsup again.

    Regarding your wishlist,
Maybe you can add a bulb, kind of bulb used for outside stairs (.)
    (..)

  13. 13 Florent Thoumie

Anouminous: Yeah that’s called a light bulb, wanker :-)

I wanted to add a liver for you but they had none left :-(

Thanks Florent, I’ve just upgraded Xorg, works great ! Thank you for the job !

Thanks Florent ! During this weekend I left my system recompiling (with portmanager). And almost everything went fine (kde built fine, and my ports made it too :D ). Thanks !

Thanks Florent ! for your great work
but there are several issues when i`m building x.org server on the newly installed system and ask libX11 to use with libxcb there are some difficulties with it cause libxcb needs doxygen and doxygen neds qt -> xorg-libraries which are not built so there is loop libx11->libxcb->doxygen->qt->xorg-libraries->libx11

another question is when xcb-util and xcb-misc would be ported ?
    thanks, alexey.
